For this week’s route we visited White Oak Creek greenway in Cary. This route is so nice we did it twice this week! I have always been a fan of White Oak greenway but it’s even better now that they’ve connected Davis Dr to MacArthur park. Woohoo! There are seven miles of gorgeous greenway to enjoy! For our long run and bike ride we did an out and back but if you want to do this route as a point to point you can start at Wimberly Rd. and end at Bond Park.

Let’s check out the route!

We parked at the Wimberly Rd access to The American Tobacco Trail but you can also park at Davis Dr. Park or Bond Park if you rather. Both parks have access to the White Oak greenway and they have restrooms. The Wimberly Rd parking lot does not have restrooms, just a water fountain.
About a quarter mile down the American Tobacco Trail you will take a right onto the White Oak greenway.
For the first couple of miles you will get a variety of wooden bridges and greenway.
Believe it or not we do have swamp in Cary. Not like the swamp I’m use to in Louisiana but I’ll take it!
Shaded greenways are always great!
White Oak is seven miles long so please remember to pay attention to all the signage along the route.
Keep an eye out for ducks and turtles swimming around this little pond.
We have reached our halfway point of our route at Davis Drive Park. This is a great pit stop if you need one. Davis Drive park always has clean restrooms and a water fountain if you need one. If you are doing an out and back like we did then you can have a pit stop twice! Bonus!!
When passing through Davis Dr. park follow the greenway down to the tunnel under the railroad tracks.
I love this new section of White Oak Creek greenway!
Quick picture of Bond Lake before we turn around and go back!
This is where White Oak meets Black Creek greenway in Bond Park. Stay tuned for our tour of Black Creek greenway!
