The Art to Heart trail is a 6 mile, point to point trail taking you on a greenway tour through parks, campuses, and downtown neighborhoods. We started at the North Carolina Museum of Art on Blue Ridge Rd and finished in front of the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts on 2 E South St in downtown Raleigh. I was excited to run a point to point route since the majority of my runs are out and backs. I also found it very rewarding to see the full mileage of what I ran on the map. I have run the greenways on this trail at different times but connecting them all made for an entertaining route. Let’s check it out!

We started on Reedy Creek Trail at NCMA.
I love running through NCMA! There is always beautiful artwork to distract you from the hills!
Take the bridge over US -1 and then the tunnel to head towards Meredith College.
There is a nice mix of hills and flat greenway to enjoy!
By the intersection of Hillsborough and Gorman take the crosswalk and head towards Sullivan Dr.
On Rocky Branch trail you can take a quick water break and learn something new!
NC State’s campus has a variety of different running surfaces through it.
Follow the signs for Pullen Park. You will run under two tunnels before getting there.
After Pullen Park, follow the greenway to Cabarrus St and then take a (R) on Lenior St.
You will have a great view of the shimmer wall. Just a half mile left to go! Yay!

Here is a basic route card and my run from last weekend to help you find your way! Have fun exploring! Here is the route on Strava.
